From Your
Design Friend

Every home has a story. Yours shouldn't be a struggle.

New keys in hand, mid-renovation, or ten years in and still not "done" — a family home is the biggest design project most of us ever take on, and somehow the one with the least guidance. A Design Lifestyle exists to change that: expert design, family-proof home, zero judgment

The sentence I couldn't unhear.

For fifteen years I ran a full-service interior design practice — single rooms to whole-home renovations, over 100 family homes. And in home after home, the same sentence:"I have kids — I can't have a nice home." It's not true. It was never true. Family homes don't need less design — they need smarter design: washable materials, layouts that absorb the 8am scramble, rooms that work as hard as you do. Nobody had built that system for families. So I did.

Jackie Norrise

An Architectural Digest–featured interior designer with a degree in Interior Architecture & Design, 15 years, and 100+ family homes

from first apartments to forever homes, refreshes to full renovations. Also a parent with a real family home:there is homework on the dining table and a rogue sock in the entry right now.Which is the point — every recommendation in these workbooks survives contact with actual life, because it has to survive mine first. Featured in Architectural Digest, Forbes, HGTV, Luxe, Real Simple, Homes & Gardens, Business of Home, and Better Homes & Gardens.

You were never meant to guess.

Here's the thing nobody says: knowing what pillow, what paint, what sofa — that's not instinct. It's aprocess. Designers aren't magic; we have a system. So I turned mine into step-by-step workbooks any family can run— the questionnaire, the checklists, the exact materials I specify.

THE MISSION

A functional home shouldn't be a luxury.

Designer guidance has always been gated — $200-an-hour meetings, trade-only showrooms, processes nobody writes down. These workbooks ungate it: the exact system from 100+ client homes, at a price a family can actually reach. Every home deserves to work.
